Actually, this is a lie.
I have no idea if I would or not, because, you see, I don’t have to.
Do I have a husband who washes them for me? Uh…no.
I knew when my baby came along, I would have the very best INTENTIONS
of going the cloth diapering route. But I also knew, after two weeks,
it would be highly unlikely I would keep up with my diaper laundering
duties.
I just don’t like doing laundry. Period. And certainly not diapers.
I KNOW there are other people like me out there! And if you are one of them – I HIGHLY recommend
Snug-Glee Bumz. It truly makes cloth diapering as convenient as using disposables.
How it works in a nutshell:
#1. You sign up for the service
#2. They come to your house with your starter pack of cloth diapers and to explain how to use them.
(Now, I know this may seem like a no-brainer, but I went a full 2 weeks putting them on backwards…uh…hello mommy brain!)
#3. Then comes time to start diapering.
Put the cloth diaper on.
When your baby pees, take the diaper off and deposit into the waterproof laundry bag
(provided by them)
.
Put another diaper on your baby.
When they poo, take the diaper off and put it into bag.
Repeat.
(Seriously…it’s that easy….no rinsing, pre-treating, fuss or muss – just toss them in the bag).
#4. Once a week, you put your bag of dirty diapers on your doorstep
and the magic diaper fairies swap it out with a bag of clean ones.
Rejoice!
Every week when I go outside to find my clean diapers, I feel like
hitting the ‘Easy’ button, cause really folks, it’s just that easy!
Who do I think should use the diapering service?
A. People who are considering cloth diapering, but aren’t sure about
it (because it allows you to try cloth diapering without having to first
invest in a bunch of diapers).
B. People like me who KNOW washing diapers ISN’T something they will do!
(I’ve never read that it is morally superior to wash your own diapers,
so hey – if it ain’t your thing – TRY this service….you will LOVE it!)
Here are some questions I frequently get asked…
1. Isn’t it expensive?
Personally, at less than $23/week, I find the service a serious
bargain (and close to what we were spending on disposables each week…we
didn’t start cloth diapering until our baby was ~3 weeks old)
2. Do you have to buy a bunch of diapers to get started?
Nope. I didn’t buy a single diaper. They provide the diapers for you.
Then they wash them for you. Did you read the part where I say they
wash them for you?
3. Wouldn’t you prefer to use all the cute diapers instead?
I admit, there are some seriously sweet diapers out on the market these
days, and I was tempted. But for me, I knew they would only be cute
until the first time I had to wash them. And, honestly, it’s a rare day
our daughter is hanging out in just her diaper (and there are plenty of
cute diaper covers!)
4. Don’t you end up with lots of leaks and blow-outs with cloth diapers?
Now, here was the big surprise for me – because I was SURE that
disposables would outperform cloth when it came to containing blow-outs.
Turns out to be the complete opposite. The cloth contains and the
disposables stain (meaning, the disposables always leak, and I end up
with stained sleepers)!
The other great thing – if you are going to be out of town for a week
or two, just let them know and they’ll pause your service until you are
back, so you aren’t getting charged the weeks you aren’t using the
service!
Ok – this is getting long.
Conclusion: Snug-Glee Bumz Diaper Service rocks my world!
